Located at the edge of Cannock Chase in Staffordshire, the founder of Tapethat has over forty years experience in the field of high fidelity sound recording and reproduction from the design and construction of loudspeakers, amplifiers and sound mixers to becoming actively involved in location recording projects and broadcast audio from the mid sixties through to the early eighties.

Although many people think that the humble audio cassette has had its day and is no longer with us, after forty years it still has a place and we are firmly committed to servicing tape requirements as long as there is a need. We wind our own cassettes and duplicate in real time or Telex copiers depending on the job. We have customers who require few copies off many masters and these are catered for with a bank of high speed copiers.

In 1994 we bought one of the first compact disc recorders in Staffordshire intending to offer a one-off CD service. With discs costing around £20 and suspicious customers (what on earth is a one-off CD?) it was a while taking off! We built our dedicated mastering and editing computer, a state of the art (at the time!!) Pentium II 200 which was quickly followed by the acquisition of an American robotic duplicator. Today we use a digital offset print system and we have our own print finishing equipment, so everything is done in-house and we have complete control of all procedures.

Most of our business is repeat and new work from existing customers but we are always very happy to extend our customer base. We believe our continued success is based on sound engineering principles, using the right media with the right hardware at the right speed and the accumulated knowledge gained in CD mastering and duplication since 1995.
